Mac & Cheese Takedown

This past Sunday, at The Bell House in Brooklyn, I participated in the Mac & Cheese Takedown where 30 cooks with 30 types of mac and cheese battled it out for glory. There were two foodie judges and over 250 voters who came out to eat a ton of mac and cheese and pick their favorites. I am very proud to announce that my Roasted Poblano & Smoked Bacon Mac & Cheese won 2nd place from the judges vote, 1st place from the voters choice and the only competitor to win in both categories! It was a really exciting day and I had a lot of great competition. If you live in NYC the Takedowns are an awesome way to spend a Sunday. Each Takedown has a different theme from Mac & Cheese to meatballs, cookies, ice cream, hot sauce or bacon, and for only $15 you get to eat your heart out (plus a free drink within the first hour)! It’s probably the best “brunch” deal in the city!

Very excited to win first place in the voters choice!
